Swiss inheritance law is regulated by the Swiss Civil Code. The law protects the children, the spouse and, if there are no children, the parents of the deceased, especially by defining the way an estate must be split between the heirs. Estate planning is much more than just drawing up a will or setting up a trust or an inheritance contract.
